Recent Development Projects
North Channel Brewing
Opened November 2017. Manistee’s first craft brewery is located in the historic North Channel Manufacturing building on Washington Avenue in downtown Manistee next to the Manistee River. Offering 12 beers on tap plus a Texas-style barbecue menu, the 4,000 square-foot brewery-restaurant gives a nod to Manistee’s port city history with its name, logo and atmosphere.
Arcadia Bluffs South Course – Arcadia
Soft opening late summer 2018; grand opening spring 2019. Soon to be the ninth golf course in Manistee County, this new 18-hole, 310-acre course will be located off of M-22 south of Arcadia Bluffs. Constructed on an old orchard with 60 feet of elevation change, the South Course will be a great complement to Arcadia Bluffs, offering golfers a playable, walkable and enjoyable experience with the world-class conditions guests expect at Arcadia. The facility will include the golf course, practice area and a clubhouse with dining, pro shop, and locker room facilities. Designed by renowned golf course architect Dana Fry of Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design, the linear course with square greens and rectangular, flat bottom bunkers is reminiscent of the Chicago Golf Club, the oldest 18-hole club in North America.
Iron Fish Distillery – Thompsonville
Opened in 2017, Iron Fish Distillery is Michigan’s first farm distillery, where spirits including vodka, gin, rum and whiskey are produced, distilled, bottled and barreled on site featuring soil-to-spirit estate releases. This “soil to spirit” distillery and tasting room on a 119-acre working farm has meeting spaces perfect for everything from small groups to wedding parties. A mezzanine area overlooking the distillery offers an intimate event experience for groups of up to 40 people. Adjacent to the tasting room is a historic 1920s-era barn available for rent for events, parties and weddings with up to 100 people.
The Bluffs on Manistee Lake – Manistee
Opened Summer 2017. This 55-and-over manufactured home and RV resort is nestled between Manistee National Forest and Lake Michigan overlooking Manistee Lake, offering premium home sites for upscale park models, manufactured homes and motorhomes or RVs. Home owners and RVers can enjoy lake access for fishing, kayaking and relaxing on the beach, as well as enjoy a 4,900 square foot clubhouse with fitness room, craft room, and game room with billiards, laundry facilities, dog park, pool and hot tub, tennis court, WiFi and cable.
